Live Bands
The Silver Heels A great jazz band of marvellous players who can do swing and Charleston numbers galore. We've worked with them at tea dances, running Charleston dance offs with them - they really are the ticket if you'd like some old school jazzy numbers at your party! Ask me for their contact details as website is currently being revamped.
La Mort Subite Stomping great fun, this band has hungarian zithers, hurdy gurdy, double bass and superfast drums. Great to stomp to with many a charlestonable track. Influenced by Parno Graszt, Bireli Lagrene, Rosenberg Trio, Davy Graham, Henry Mancini, Goran Bregovic, Gus Viseur, Besh o droM, Django Reinhardt, Yann Tiersen, Bango Margit. Myspace page
Charleston Charlies Playing popular hits from the Roaring Twenties, an era of wonderful nonsense, quirky original music and cheerful entertainment.
Greg Poppleton & his Bakelite Dance Band 1920s and 30s Hot Jazz and Swing, based in Sydney, but worth a look! For those planning to get married in Australia in twenties style this is a must!
DJs
DUTTY MOONSHINE - Electroswing DJs, aka Don von Drop It and FunkUnFurl, resident DJs of the vaudeville rave. Outstanding spark of 1930s swing and Charleston tunes remixed for today's dance generation. Great to charleston to but will also appeal to people that like beats as well!
Vintage event organisation
Clara Bow's blog 1920s wedding organisation and advice. Fascinator-making workshops for hen parties. Why not have a 1920s day for you and your hens? Make your own hats in the afternoon, take tea and cake and cocktails, then book a Charleston dance workshop for the evening.
